Since 1994 we have maintained our drive to play our part in leaving the right sort of social, environmental and economic legacy. Being sustainable helps us protect all our futures, none moreso than by reducing our carbon emissions.

That’s why we’re pleased to announce the milestone achievement that from January 2021 our entire fleet of non-commercial vehicles will be fully electric or petrol-electric hybrid vehicles with emissions of 85g/km of CO2 or less.

The Case for Change

Acumen has enacted a policy to progressively introduce electric and hybrid vehicles into our fleet, the first of which was bought in 2017. It’s now common knowledge that traditionally fuelled vehicles have notoriously had a negative impact on the environment as a result of their CO2 emissions. However, it’s only really since the government’s commitment to banning sales of new wholly fossil-fuelled vehicles by 2030 that electric and hybrid vehicles have become more universally accepted.

Director of Compliance, Adam Hindson, said:

‘The decision to restructure our car fleet was a simple one. Acumen is committed to reducing CO2 emissions across our operations and this milestone is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to this. With many companies making commitments to CO2 reduction, it was important for Acumen, as Leaders to ensure we stayed ahead of the curve by actually delivering on these commitments.”

This will be one step of many from Acumen as a way of reducing the company’s CO2 emissions and it’s a policy at the heart of everything we do.
