According to a new report, 62% of shoppers prioritise waste and recycling issues over price. The same report shows that in the next 10 years, the biggest issue will be to reduce packaging and use more recyclable materials.
Many shoppers said that this is already a bigger issue than the price of the food and of the 2000 responders to the survey, 48% said reducing food waste should be the top agenda points for the next few years.
On average, Britons discard just over 10% of the value of food they buy each week, however this figure is starting to change with more and more people learning to shop smart and not indulge – changing Britain from its throw away culture. Many consumers are disappointed with the excess and needless packaging that comes on items, those from amazon or even apples in a plastic film.
