We recently took some time to find out a little bit more about our Customer Services Advisor, Margaret Lawless. Here’s 5 questions with Mags:

1. How long have you worked with Acumen and what is the job you do?

I have worked with Acumen as a Customer Service Advisor for over 3 years. My typical day is dealing with our potential and existing customers. Booking new jobs onto the system and taking details for any new quote requests. I monitor the customer service in box and make sure that the e-mails are sent to the relevant people or division

I call Certas Energy, Watson Fuels along with other sites that use Acumen for their hazardous waste collections. I have a catch up with the customers to ensure we doing all we can to help and I must admit I push for more waste and different waste type collections whilst on the phone.

No day is ever the same when dealing with the public which keeps me on my toes and never bored within my role at Acumen Waste Services.


2. What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

To listen and empathise, not only to customers but work colleagues too


3. What do you enjoy most about your role?

Providing the best customer service possible. I believe it makes Acumen the go to provider for waste services.


4. Tell us about one of your “big wins” at work recently?

My idea of a big win is when only last week I got a contact from an large energy company not only to answer the phone, but to give me the contact details and telephone numbers of all the fuel sites that he covers!


5. How do you unwind after work?

Straight into the garden, whether dead heading flowers or shoveling snow.
