The team at Acumen joined forces with our long-standing client, Places for People, on the 10th of March and set about helping to improve a variety of locations for their special Clean Up Day at Clayton Brook.
This unique event was aimed at supporting the Chorley community in a quest to help provide a better standard of living for those living locally and allowed residents to dispose of their unwanted household items in four skips across multiple locations within the Clayton Brook community. This made it much easier for residents to get involved and contribute to the cleanliness and look of the area and generally make improvements to their day-to-day surroundings. As well as providing the skips there were further initiatives including litter picking and summer bulb planting throughout the day.
Events such as this fit perfectly with Acumen’s commitment to helping protect and improve the environment and specifically to help local communities as well as allowing us to further support our customer base and the people they work alongside on a daily basis.
Peter Lohan, Commercial Director at Acumen, said:
“We were delighted to be getting involved with a great initiative in a local community where the people deserve a better area to live and look after. It can have a negative impact on people’s mental health and wellbeing when their community is not well-looked after, so a day like this can make a large impact and help to drive long-term change through good habits. Our contribution will play a small part in making a big difference for a lot of people.”
