In December 2021, Acumen Waste Services Ltd (Acumen) confirmed that it has entered into a contract with the Environment Agency (EA) for the treatment and recycling of illegally exported English waste in Poland.

With an anticipated commencement date in early 2022, approximately 1,500 tonnes of poorly sorted household and commercial waste, which has been deposited at a number of sites across Poland, will be sent for treatment and recycling in country.

The extent of the works has been derived following site visits carried out by the Polish Authorities, the EA and Acumen.
